Artists and Makers: the films of Noah Carter
[ngg src=”galleries” ids=”20″ display=”basic_thumbnail” override_thumbnail_settings=”1″ thumbnail_width=”140″ thumbnail_height=”140″ show_slideshow_link=”0″]Noah Carter is a filmmaker and photographer who has been creating short documentary films of artists and makers including the painters Simon Carter, Emily Ball and David Page, and the jeweller Marisa Arna. His films offer a unique insight into the subject’s working practice, exploring the often unseen process behind their work and promoting the activity of small, independent designers and workshops.
Noah’s background in Architecture and experience of the arts sector allows him to interact meaningfully with his subjects and the complexities of their design process, to convey the day to day routine of the studio or workspace and represent the subject’s working environment.
Noah’s films have been shown alongside exhibitions at major universities and art galleries and his photographs are often used in exhibition catalogues and for the digital publicity of events.
