Practical Filmmaking for 12-18 Year Olds
To kick off the Village Film Festival Signals Media Arts Centre of Colchester is running a special two-day ‘Film in a Weekend’ course for young people from 12-18 living in the villages involved. The course is being 50% subsidised by the VFF.
Providing the ultimate in hands-on film experience, the course will allow students to work in small groups of 5-6 and each make their own short film over the weekend.
Signals instructors will provide digital camera, sound and editing equipment as youngsters learn how to do it all themselves – storyboards, scripts, acting, editing… and above all Filming, Filming, Filming!
Completed films will later be shown at one or more VFF village film clubs.
- The two-day course will be held in Wivenhoe, from 10am to 3pm on Saturday and Sunday October 3-4.
- The course is open to all youngsters aged 12-18 from participating VFF villages on a ‘first come, first served’ basis.
- The subsidised rate is only £35.
