A documentary crew is fascinated by the charismatic, unrepentant serial killer whose crimes they set out to objectively chronicle. But as the violence escalates, they become more and more complicit in his shocking actions.
Man Bites Dog is a hard film to describe: a black comedy, an attack on the media’s appetites for celebrity and violence, a ‘mockumentary’ fable, a intelligent satire on social fragmentation… Shot in black and white and featuring some carefully crafted often deadpan performances by an ensemble cast it is a film that can both shock and amuse simultaneously.
