Dir : Terence Davies. Starring Rachel Weisz, Tom Hiddleston and Simon Russell Beale. 12A UK 98mins
The two Terences, Rattigan and Davies, are perfectly in sympathy here, in a version of the former’s 1952 play about a tragic extramarital affair that Davies none the less makes his own. Rachel Weisz gives an extraordinary performance as the wife of a judge (a baffled Simon Russell Beale) who falls for Tom Hiddleston’s dashing but callous pilot.
