Happy Birthday Ken Loach

Ken Loach, the UK's foremost social realist film director, is eighty this year. To celebrate, we are showing two films this season, a documentary also made to honour his birthday, Versus: The Life and Films of Ken Loach, and his first film, Poor Cow, which has been restored and re-released by the BFI. The documentary is excellent, not pulling any punches in terms of uncovering Loach's less likeable aspects, and Poor Cow has been described as a masterpiece. For more see Versus: The Life and Films of Ken Loach and Poor Cow

Free Films!?

Moving Image is your local community cinema, screening recent feature films most Tuesdays from September to July. We always welcome people who can help set up each evening screening, whether it's putting out chairs, selling tickets, doing ice-creams or helping to do sound and projection. As well as being a lot of fun, all volunteers get to see the film free. You don't need to be a special member or make a big commitment, just helping out once or twice is really useful. Of course we also welcome people who are interested to get more involved: helping to plan future programmes, putting on a special event or becoming a Trustee. If you think any of this sounds interesting please get in touch with Ginny Waters or Moira Collett at info@movingimage.org.uk
