Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa

When famous DJ Alan Partridge’s radio station is taken over by a new media conglomerate, it sets in motion a chain of events which see Alan having to work with the police to defuse a potentially violent siege. Alan Partridge is, of course, the alter ego of Steve Coogan, who pulled off a screenwriting and acting triumph in Philomena, also released last year. It is the first time he has brought Alan Partridge to the big screen and the film is described as ‘extremely funny’. Philip French hailed the film as a very ‘English comedy’ in its scatology and portrait of the ‘mean smallness’ of British life.
