Zero Dark Thirty

Apologies for cancelled screening

We apologise to all our audience on Saturday. Owing to an unexpected problem in the JVC projector we had to cancel the screening and refund all tickets. An alternative HD quality projector has been arranged for the next two screenings (The Hunt and Quartet) whilst the JVC projector is returned for repair and we will be considering the possibility of an alternative screening at a later date. We are hoping to purchase a second projector to have as an in situ backup to avoid similar occurrences in the  future. Thanks to all who were so understanding and our sincere apologies for any disappointment caused.

Zero Dark Thirty is a 2012 film directed by Kathryn Bigelow and written by Mark Boal, the film dramatizes the United States operation that found and killed Osama bin Laden, leader of al-Qaeda. The film received wide critical acclaim and was nominated for five Oscars. Its graphic depiction of torture has generated controversy, with some critics describing it as pro-torture propaganda, and other critics describing it as an anti-torture exposure of interrogation practices. Whatever your views it is an intense and well paced political thriller with a lot of powerful scenes, some of which were removed from the final edit so it has been said at the request of the CIA.

Zero Dark Thirty stars Jessica Chastain, Jason Clarke, Joel Edgerton, Chris Pratt, Jennifer Ehle, Mark Strong, Kyle Chandler, and Édgar Ramirez, is directed by Kathryn Bigelow and written by Mark Boa
